Brilliant Book Award

Managed by the Nottinghamshire Education Library Service and supported by The Bookcase at Lowdham, The Brilliant Book Award is an annual award voted for by students at Key Stage 3 in schools across Nottinghamshire, Nottingham City and Derbyshire. The aim of the award is to:

  • Promote reading to KS3 pupils
  • Raise awareness of children’s literature
  • Give a voice to pupils through reading for pleasure
  • Recognise excellence as well as popularity

The timetable for the award runs from September to March each year and is open to KS3 students in schools across Nottinghamshire, Nottingham City and Derbyshire.


The Brilliant Book Award is free for schools who buy into the Education Library Service.
