Dance skills development-Inspire Youth Arts

Aged 15, Millie a young contemporary dancer from Ollerton began dancing with IYA at Tuxford Academy’s Back Foot Forward dance group.  She then auditioned for and was accepted in to the Old Library based North Notts Youth Dance. In 2018 she was accepted in to Xzibit, a young choreographers project. She then performed as part of the Able Orchestra vs Shadow movement in June followed by the Tom Dale Urban Explorers Gifted and Talented group whilst also being part of the Unity Dance and Percussion project playing Taiko drums and movement.  To cap it all she auditioned for Dance 4’s CAT (Centre for Advanced Dance) and has been accepted.

She was also part of the Mowgli dance company which devised a 45-minute piece this summer at the Old Library.

In 2018 she has performed at The Old Library, Palace Theatre Mansfield, Lakeside Theatre, Nottingham Playhouse, Nottingham Contemporary and at the Royal Opera House (Covent Garden) all within Inspire related projects .

...all the opportunities have been brilliant and I have been ‘pushed’ further and further to improve my skills and feel that I can take dance as far I as I want to.
